The Accident and Sickness Program for the Exchanges (ASPE) uses a PPO Network inside the United States of America. The primary PPO network for the ASPE Health Benefits Plan is the UnitedHealthcare PPO Network. The logo for the UnitedHealthcare Network is on the front of your ASPE benefit ID card. You must present your ASPE ID card to your provider at the time of service.
When contacting a provider in the UnitedHealthcare PPO Network it is important to say: “My healthcare plan utilizes the UnitedHealthcare PPO Network.” Provider’s may not recognize ‘ASPE’ or ‘IMG’ but will recognize the name of the network the program uses.
Failure to use an available UnitedHealthcare PPO provider could result in you being responsible for charges over the usual and customary amount. This means you could be responsible for any costs not paid by the healthcare program and providers may require payment at the time of service.
If you contact a network provider that denies participation in the UnitedHealthcare PPO Network, please contact IMG immediately with the provider’s name, phone number and address. Please note that appointment availability is based on a physician’s schedule. If a provider does not accept new patients, you will need to contact a different provider.
Looking for a pharmacy? To find a pharmacy that accepts ASPE prescription benefits, please use the Universal Rx Pharmacy Locator. The UnitedHealthcare "Prescription Benefits" pharmacy search tool does not provide ASPE participating pharmacies.
Exchange participants on grants outside the US may go to any provider they want. IMG offers a Medical Network outside of the US for exchange participants to locate providers overseas. Outside the United States, you may search IMG’s International Provider Access network by going to https://ipa.imglobal.com.
International Medical Group will attempt to facilitate financial arrangements with Non-U.S. medical providers on the Exchange Participant’s behalf, but Exchange Participants should be prepared to pay-out-of-pocket and seek claim reimbursement. When you have health care coverage other than ASPE (except Medicare or Medicaid), your other coverage is the primary payer and must pay claims first up to the limit of its policy.
Emergency — In case of an Emergency, during which the Exchange Participant is outside the United States, please contact local emergency services first to secure your safety and care. Then as soon as possible you or an authorized representative may contact IMG in case of needing to coordinate any emergency assistance services and for any services requiring pre-notification.
